Bruisers video for "Chrome"

This is a video I put together. I have a pretty good audio recording of a show at the Elvis room in '95 and this sound recording came from that disc. The videos are all over the place.
Enjoy, there is little or no footage or live recordings from this era of the band.

Great job with the video and that's a fantastic recording of that song.

Jeff, one of my favorite songs. With all this footage you're messing around with, you should make a Bruisers DVD. Or spread some love around the Thorp family and get joemaconmovies to do it (speaking of, where's Joe been?).

Out of curiosity, did you ever get to a point in The Bruisers where you wondered why the hell you were playing heart-felt rock & roll to a bunch of guys who were beating each other up? Just wondering.

That's one of the funniest questions I've been asked.

Here it is in a nutshell... every record I wrote for the band, from Independence Day to American Night to Cruisin for a Bruisin and finally Up In Flames was exactly the record I wanted to make. I had zero interest in regurgitating the same sound and topics every time.

Bottom line, I always figured that you either grow WITH your audience or they outgrow YOU.

In some cases I've seen that be proven correct, but for the most part people still want to hear Intimidation a whole hell of a lot more than Chrome, for example.

And no, every time we played a show and people went apeshit I fed off the energy, I never got tired of that.

Glad I could contribute something!

You've politely left out the other possibility, that you outgrow your audience. But I don't blame you for not saying it. :wink1:

I grew into them. I heard of them but never heard them until this message board. Now I jam them out all the time and wish they were together and playing shows. Good stuff but back then I was too much of a douche to know any better. Still am in some aspects.

Indeed. 2 things I miss the most in my area... The Elvis Room and The Bruisers.

Any plans for another reunion show in the future? That was an INSANE show!

I wish I could have gone to the reunion show but there was no way it was going to happen. I wish the filming had worked out that night, I would have bought the dvd the day it came out.

Semi-related.
Ritchie's old band Humpmuscle will be doing an acoustic thing at the Coat of Arms in Portsmouth on Haloween night.

My last show with the band was July '96 at the Elvis Room. I only ever played with the Business at the Rat, and never played with the Ducky Boys till the reunion show in '05.
