Exxon Mobil posts record quarterly profit of $14 billion

you can read the article if you really want to, but that kind of says it all.

that's approximately $156 million PER DAY.
(and that's profit, not revenue!)

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

yeah but we shouldn't tax them more, or try to get them to invest in new refineries or fuel sources...

I think when they posted the first record what maybe 2 years ago I broke it down by the minute and teh second of how much money they were making...

but this is just retarded...
quarter after quarter just stock piling cash....

this was from 10-27-2005

okay perspective
these fucks who earned this money did nothing for it.
it comes from the ground....
like water, a natural resource like air..
they add heat to refine it

they profited 9.9 billion in the 3rd quarter, July, August and September
all of the costs, (employee pay to toothpicks for company picnics) had already been paid
9,900,000,000.00
92 total days in the 3rd quarter = $107,608,695.65 per day
24 hours per day = 4,483,695.63 per hour
60 minutes = 74,728.26 per minute
60 seconds= 1245.47 per second
1245.47 per second is made in profit whether they are working, sleeping, fucking, doing whatever...

at minimum wage 5.25 an hour the average person (Exxon gas station employee) makes 210.00 a week before tax for 40 hours of work
that is 840.00 a month to live on, before taxes

at 30.00 an hour a person makes 1200.00 a week
4800.00 a month 62,400 a year
how many people do you know that make kind of money
the average pay of us teachers from 2002-2003 was 45,000 per year
the average police Sergeant (not guy on the beat ) makes $56,997 per year
the average military enlisted is in the mid 40,000 per year

but....
the numbers above are not completely accurate
because there were only 64 working days in the quarter
64 days of work= 154,687,500 per day
8 hours of work= 19,335,937.5 per hour
60 minutes of work per hour = 322,265.63 per minute
60 seconds staring at the clock = 5371.10 per second

in the time it took you to read this, they just bought and sold you like your life was nothing.

This was from over the summer right? Was this second quarter or 3rd quarter? Fucking disturbing either way. While we as people fucking struggle to make ends meet corporate owners and managers are getting bailed out by the government and oil companies are making record profits on our hard earned dollars.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

LOL....I doubt anybody here, me included, would last one day on an oil rig. It takes more than 'nothing' to get oil out of the ground and into your gas tank. They found a niche and are exploiting it for profit like any other corp would do. Last I checked ExxonMobile are not a non-profit organization. Now do I think we need more alternative fuels? Yes we do. Will we get that with Obama? No. With McCain? No.

The government has always needed to impose a higher tax to big oil companies but big oil companies have the politicians in their pocket.
