I remember hanging in the local SHWINN bike shop and staring at a row of that same exact bike.

I used to have a 1989 GT Vertigo. Used to hit the street everyday with that bike, until it got stolen. I always wanted a Haro, after my bike was stolen, I never had the money to get another one...ending my pro BMX career.

^^^^^^^^^ I knew this idiot that had one of them but pink. He was all proud it was pink until everyone started giving him hell. I think he ended up selling or trading it and getting a white version of the same exact bike.

The only time I had a good bike was a Dyno Compe or Tri-Compe- can't remember. It ran me $150. I mowed up some grass to snag that thing. This GT is fuckin' sweet!

I used to ride BMX when I was like 10. There used to be tracks all over Indiana in those days. It was always fun to watch riders jump the gun and start peddling before the gate went down and they'd all tumble over top of it. Hilarious.

For some reason manufactures loved the sick colors. HUTCH, CW, HARO, GT they all had em. THe more gay the better it seemed. My favorite bike was a BMX bike. It was a DIAMONDBACK crome. It was so fucking lite and I swear it made me faster, just like a new pair of shoes when your a kid.

I guess that was before my generation because if I saw someone riding that when I was 9 I would think the kid was a fruit or "weird".

AHAHAHA. Ya Miami Vice had a major impact. You had to be there to understand. For some reason BURMUDA SHORTS and ZUMBA weightlifter pants were king.

Hahaha dude, the 80s were something else. I had some crazy shorts I used to wear with my gigantic single kick skateboard while sporting my wildly colored TMNT shirts. I was like 10. The early 90s had its fair share of weird shit, like Hypercolor shirts and pants.
