Porcell launches Straight Edge clothing company

from punknews:

John "Porcell" Porcelly of Youth of Today, Judge, Bold, Shelter and more, has launched a new straight edge clothing line appropriately titled True Till Death. The company explains it's manifesto:

Straight edge. It's a choice. A conscious decision not to let chemicals or popular opinion be your ruler. In a world where being "cool" means intoxication and excess, it's a stance against.

Let them call it a trend. We know it's more. It's a common sense lifestyle that frees the boy from toxic control and releases the mind from clouded thoughts and dependency.

The X. It's more than fashion, It's a statement. Wear it proudly.

ummmmmm. Actually looks like decent clothes/designs, but too little, very late. Also, he can no longer bitch about it being popular.

I'd be quite happy if he never started another band.

Ray and Porcell should do another solo record. I don't think the last ep sucked enough.

he was in youth of today right?
and was ray cappos boyfriend?

i know ive said this 800 times on this board but to me ray cappo is the reason i started hating "hardcore"
one of the last hardcore shows i ever went to was at city gardens and there was a fuckin table of krishnas selling their merch or whatever the fuck
i said to myself "yeah, thats enough. im stayin home from now on"

youth of today was laughable enough
but shelter.........fuck man, that's a whole different level of crapfest

Judge was good. I think Paulie's idea is hilarious (especially the FOSSILS one) and think it would sell far more than it should. And Clevo is absolutely right that he can't really bitch about sXe not "being cool"... the likely success of his clothing line is a pretty good indication that it's "cool to be sXe" in a lot of places.

this is like a relaunch or so ething because a couple of years ago he had the same company name. He reprinted some Schism, judge & project x shirts. There might have been a few sXe designs too

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I saw Shelter in St. Louis at Bastille's when they were touring with ZERO TOLERANCE in the early 90's. All I remember was my buddy throwing bbq on them and being pretty shithoused. They looked like a bunch of scared beat dogs.

what bugs me is that tagline... it's more than fashion...WEAR it proudly.

so it's not just about image.... so here's a bunch of shit promoting the image of straight edge.

come on now... it's one of the most successful and commercially viable advertising gimmicks in the history of hardcore.

might as well say 'sxe is not about what you wear, so wear this sxe shirt!'

"FOSSILS
damn,that's old!"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The best one. I picture that on a early nineties forest green SE shirt that is way too big for the "vegan" wearing it. It will be one sided with the word FOSSILS across the upper chest. With a picture of a fossil, maybe the sundays first album cover called reading, writing, arithmetic. And underneath in smaller font is "DAMN, THATS OLD" Maybe even in cursive.

Then on the back in bold letters. "IT'S OK NOT TO FOSSIL"

O man that would have been great back in the day.

FOSSIL could look like ENDPOINT, but play like ONE LIFE CREW.
