How much do you spend on booze in a year?
i was doing a little end of year accounting and decided to tally up how much was spent on certain things, like booze. we always pay with credit or
debit, never cash, so the number is very accurate. this is just purchases from the wine & liquor store and the beer distributor; it does not include
drinks out at restaurants or bars. it does also include purchases for three parties we had. ready for this? $1,600. kinda blew my
mind.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

$50. Maybe. I usually buy a bottle of wine once or twice a year, but that's it.

1600 is unacceptable
well, not unacceptable, because booze is good
but irresponsible
that shit won't be happening this year
i'm gonna make a point to save an extra 1600

BD- I don't think it's that bad. If it's something you enjoy, you should spend money on it. $1,600 is only $4 and some change a day. TONS of people
are spending that in coffee everyday, what's the difference?
As long as your financial house is in order and you can afford it, you should do what you enjoy.

you're right, comparatively speaking, it's not bad
and really, we don't drink that much, maybe two drinks twice a week
but if we're invited somewhere for dinner, we always take a good bottle of wine
and of that 1600, probably 400 was for the parties, and that gets written off come tax time

That is a really good point. Good way to look at it as well.
Back in the day I don't want to know how much I spent parting like a crazy person. A lot has changes in the last few years and I don't spend much on
booze anymore. Just here and there now and maybe a bog night out every few moths. It is actually amazing how much money I notice has been saved. None
the less it is all spoken for on bills for other shit.

I think in most cases $22 a week on a case.
multiply that x 52
$1144
thats a rough guestimate cause i dont buy beer every week so maybe chop off $250
plus that excludes time spent in bars and or restaurants if we're counting beers with dinner, which is rather infrequent.
I'm probably close to your figure BD.
I'm not sweating it though.
I'm not doing terrible these days as far as $$ goes where I'm drinking the electric bill or anything. but i too hope to save more this year.

I have no idea how much I spent last year and don't want to know since I was buying a six pack and a 26'er of whiskey almost every day for months on
end. I spent a lot of money on booze last year.

I think I bought a couple of drinks for some friends, but that's the extent of it. Obviously not a dime on myself.
