Been a long time, so my memory may be fuzzy. In the Killing Joke the Joker fucked up Gordan's daughter. Wasn't she Batwoman, or am I thinking of the
old tv show?

Indeed, Gordon's daughter did get fucked up but she was not Batwomen. Batwoman was nowhere to be found in The Killing Joke, nor any of the other
quality Batman series/stories (at least IMO). I believe the Batwoman hasn't been in anything since 1979.

Barbara Gordon was Batgirl. Batwoman is a difference character from a different part of the DC multiverse that was revealed back in the 52 storyline.
I think, in the convoluted bullshit that is the DC comics universe, that she may have crossed over into the main DC universe in the latest Infinite
Crisis storyline.
Shit, Marvel turned Colossus gay in Ultimate X-Men like 5 years ago.
