new Alice in Chains' song
I'm sure someone will poo poo this since Layne Staley is dead but anyway....
go to www.aliceinchains.com
enter your email address and they send you the link to download the new song for free. Or you can buy it from iTunes and Amazon. It's 7 minutes long.
Sounds like they never missed a beat.

I'll never forget watching them get booed off the stage here in Toronto many years ago. Funny as hell.

I saw them open the 'Clash of the Titan tour' with Megadeth, Slayer & Anthrax and no one cared, but they were good.
Whos the singer now?

I hope they release a radio edit of this song cuz it's too fuckin long. I like it other than that. New guy's voice isn't as great as Layne Stayley
but the guy can harmonize with Jerry Cantrell just as well so it sounds good. I saw them live with the new guy and it was weird as shit to see some
far out Jimi Hendrix/Lenny Kravitz black guy singing.

THIS SONG IS AWESOME!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnBEXTuUca0&eurl=http%3A%2F%2...
I am a big fan since literally 1990 when the debut came out and was pissed when I heard they had reformed with a new singer. I was totally expecting
to HATE the new AIC record, but I eat my words and now....WILL BE BUYING!
Found out today: new AIC singer was in B'LAST @ one point and is from the early 80's HC scene...no joke.

saw the same tour in san diego...
they were again booed, but then again seeing slayer in southern california is scary anyhow...
anthax and megadeth were booed as well
slayer came out tom said this is your encore
played an 8 song set violence insued and they left...
I don't hate alice in chains but not really a fan either
I liked early soundgarden, but the rest of that scene was too "fill in appropriate term for generic here"

i generally dislike when bands replace a new singer.
for me, the vocals are the most identifiable part of the music.
i remember mark talking about how much he liked the new singer, so i gave it a try.
this new track is definitely good and with eerily familiar sound.
for me, though, AIC represents a specific period in time..and that time was long long ago. feels weird listening to it now.

I would be pissed if a band from my teenage years came back with a new singer willy nilly but this situation is a bit different since Layne is dead.
The two new songs I've heard sound like the 3rd AIC album.... the one with the 3 legged dog on the front.... or like a Jerry Cantrell solo album. This
is good. The Cantrell solo albums were good but they lacked that contrasting voice that makes the tension in the AIC sound. And this new cat does it
well. Cantrell is still writing great songs.
What was great about them live is that Duvall went out there in a way that I assume Brian Johnson did when he joined AC/DC. He had a vibe about him
that was like "this is who I am. I'm not Layne and I'm gonna work for your approval". He worked the crowd and they responded in a natural and organic
way. He isn't some look-alike or sound alike. He sounds like Layne only in the way that his voice blends with Jerry. But that's necessary. It would be
like replacing Izzy Stradlin with someone other than Gilby Clarke. They need to play in a similar manner but not be a copy. He's also a very tall
black man with an afro so he wasn't resting on some Michael Graces-esque lookalike quality.

That's Pearl Jam's best single in well over a decade. Probably since Vitology.

Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

It just dawned on me that there are two new AIC songs floating around. You can hear them both on their site.
