I don't remember if I told this story here...so in a nutshell...

A friends band has a practice spot in Chicago near Chinatown, basically an old commercial building someone rented band rooms out in. For a period of time last year or the year before Anthrax actually practiced there in the basement of this building (I have no idea why they were in Chicago). They apparently had some type of guards at the steps going down there to make sure no one could get close enough to hear any of their music.

Nothing groundbreaking, just amusing that a band who hasn't written a good album in almost 20 years is worried about a riff getting ganked. It definitely wasn't a crowd issue, maybe 3 bands practiced there and it was easier to get into Fort Knox than this building so it's not like some troops of Anthrax fans were going to crowd their spot. I guess whenever the guys would emerge into the rest of the building they weretotal douchenozzles to the other bands.

They really do need to call it a day.

I went up to meet Scott Ian at the SOD tour in 99 and he was neither rude nor an ass. You could tell he wasn't into being there though. Its like they are no longer metal and more like just there because that is there lot in life. Like they go with the motions or something. Hate to say it because ANTHRAX is one of my favorite bands up till 1991. Then they sucked.

I love it that you used the term "ganked". Great call.

Over the weekend I heard that the new singer Dan and bassist Frank Bello got into a huge fight/arguement that led to the current situation. I also heard that Frank is a big pain in the ass and pulls a lot of strings in the band on the DL.

Again, this could be BS, but it sounds possible.

I watched a few videos with the new guy and it really didn't do anything for me. He kind of sounded like a second rate Phil Anselmo. It would be cool if they got Bush back. He had character of his own.
