why i love you guys (and gals)
i've been back in the US for about 1.5 months. been watching/hearing a lot of cable news for the last week. too much uninformed nonsense about
health care. so far, nothing about the health care debate on the thorp board, aside from a single reasonable thread about costs.

I been thinking the same thing as well. I think we are just so fucking tired of BS that when we come to THORP that why bother with BS nonsense. If
something is brought up we assume that its worthy of discussion or personal to us. If not, we don't. I'm right there with ya.

Thorp's a fucking break from the world. The health care debate is personal to me, because I can't afford health insurance myself and with my
circumstances kind of up in the air I could certainly use some "socialized" health care... but I don't want to get into it here. What's the point?
Save ourselves the aggravation if we conflict with anyone, either that or we'd all just be singing the same tune anyways.

Thorp is the one board where not one single poster irrirtates me in any way.
In 2009, this is quite a feat.

I actually work for an insurance company. They have sent out emails to all employees stating why we (as a company) disagree with healthcare reform.
They say that it can't be supported actuarially.(sp) Now.. is that true? or is it more corperate bullshit trying to protect their profits?? I know
which one makes logical sense to me, but I don't feel informed enough to have an opinion.
I hope for DaveMoral's sake this thing can be pulled off.

IF a insurance company is trying to explain anything it is ONLY to protect themselves and there profits. Nothing more.

Its not much of a debate....a clusterfuck of epic proportions is more accurate. People can't reasonably discuss a damn thing in this country. We
need more guns.

It's more the left says "hey, let's get everyone coverage that can't afford it... even if it's free." And the right just stands up and screams
"socialism! Communism! Death panels! Look at Canada, they suck!"
It's funny though, to me, because the Republican diatribe against it throwing out things like socialism and communism shows the age of their party and
their constituents. How many people under the age of 50 really find socialism and communism to be the scariest thing you can say?
