The online reviews are VERY mixed. I don't expect somthing without flaws, that is for sure. It would be a backup of sorts to my cell phone.

I've heard mixed things about it, but unanimously was that customer service is horrid.

isn't this thing just a phone adapter that you plug into a PC?
and it only works with the PC running?
I don't even have a house phone anymore.....

Yup, that is what it is... I live in a basement condo where my cell phone gets no reception.

It is cheaper, but not soo good. You need to keep the computer on, not all area codes are availible. It's $39.95 for the equipment and 1 year of service and only $19.95 each year after that... Yeah, I said YEAR, not month. I am just wondering how shitty it is.

ahhh, yeah 20/year I would be weary.

but then again, I am an all cell user. I think we have a phone at home because it's included in my FIOS thing, but I haven't touched it except to find me cell when I have lost it in the house.
