computer question

I have a memorystick with a duo-adapter because my camera will not allow for the newer memory sticks. So basically it makes it longer like the old ones they do not make anymore. Anyway I am placing it into my SD/MMC/MS/xD slop and my computer will not pick it up. It usually asks to load it and send my pics to my picture folder. Now it will not ackowledge that I even loaded it. Not even in MY COMPUTER folder where you can normally find it. Any idea how to manually look for it? Or what to do? I can't load the smaller memory card by itself because it is too small for my slot on the computer.

you have to be really careful with those mini cards as they will erase easily if you mishandle them
