That's pretty nuts, something you don't see coming. It's a tough call to keep going without your founding singer, but Fletcher & Byron have also been there from day 1. The only other time they ever changed was when Jason died really, other than that the line up has been constant so having someone actually walk away from such a legacy you'd be stuck to decide if you go on as Pennywise still without him or rename & morph into something else.

Rage Against The Machine couldn't keep going without Zach, so changing the name was the right call & Audioslave continued on with success, maybe Pennywise do the same but it looks like they will keep on trucking with no change other than a singer.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

This band must quit or forever ruin its self. Read the BS posted form the band and to find a new lead singer is rediculous. I like PENNYWISE a lot as I know most you don't, but start a new band and move on. Don't become a weaker form of yourself.

I'd call it a day. How long have they been together? Jeez. Why is Jim leaving? Family? Maybe the rest of the guys should also say, "hey, we've done this enough. Time to move on."

I remember the singer and that guitar player were always at odds supposedly. I remember they went to blows on a mtv show backstage. It was that one the psychiatist to the celebs had were Adam Carolla was his sidekick. They called the police and shit. Apparently is was pretty bad. They tried playing it off afterwords like it was planned out.

honestly ... having a new singer would be like 'one step forward, ten steps back' ... the ONLY possibility would be an absolute legend in that scene replacing him ... but y'know, bad religion are a real band again so there goes that idea.

INXS with JD Fortune bombed, Pennywise have one chance to pick the right guy to carry the torch or it's gonna flop and be the end of it.

I was so waiting for tireiron's response. I knew it would be gold.
