other record labels

I know who is on Thorp for obvious reasons. And I know who is on B9 because I follow their message board. But who the fuck is signed to Victory and/or Epitaph these days? Are those labels still happening? Do they have big bands?

I guess I still follow Hell-Cat too. Not their releases because (aside from Rancid) they haven't released a good record in as long as I can remember but at least I remain aware of who they sign.

Deathwish is probably the label I follow the most closely. With an active lineup including Hope Con, Killing The Dream, Rise and Fall, and now Starkweather, they've got my attention.

I've heard OF fourteen of those bands. I've heard seven of them. Most of those seven were by accidentally playing a show with the bands. And about three of them were studio recordings.

Heard OF 16
Actually heard 5 (Comeback Kid, Freya, Path of Resistance, Ringworm, Tossers).
Own albums from and actually dig 1, Ringworm.

i used to pay attention to GMM and Street Anthem since both put out some good stuff. the only existing label i can think of other than Thorp/SGR that i ever pay any attention to is I-Scream. they just put out the new Reno Divorce, which is one of the best unknown bands going.

Please read and, if you can, help out a friend: http://www.gofundme.com/jacobmedical.

I tend to know most of the bands on most labels but dislike them greatly. I could pick maybe 3 bands from every label that are good. The rest are total cockwipe.

I've heard of 9 of the bands on that Victory page, but only herad music from 6 of them....

VooDoo Glow Skulls (I liked them 10 years ago in my ska-core phase)
Path of Resistance (I like the ultra sXe novelty aspect)
Otep (I like the older stuff)
Carnifex (I like some of what I've heard)
Comeback Kid (I saw them live, but dont like them)
Ringworm (I'm not a huge fan, but I like them)

I hadn't heard that. I love The Creepshow, glad to see them sign to a decent label.

People Like You Records has a decent line up....but they have a few releases that I thought were SGR listed as their own. Dead Moons Calling, We Are the Problem, and Sweet Misery.

PLY licensed many of the SGR albums for European release. So yes, it is a little confusing if you look at their site and see all the same albums. But those are only available to Europeans.

Similarly, we licensed Mad Sin from them for release here in the US.

yeah man straight up!
i can't remember the name as he wasn't a major character.
just did a search and can't see him in any of the pics but trust me he was on it.
if you ask him about it he's generally cool about it too.

the 12bar, where i do my monthly gigs, is part of the same complex as the studio and the alley where you see them playing in on their myspace is where i spend a fair amount of my evenings.

i remember them setting up and playing out there one night so you had hardcore bands inside the bar and then them lot outside doing acoustic johhny cash covers.

Sounds deadly man. Give bulls a shout for one of your monthlys at some stage. We need to get over to your side again soon.
