FESTS

Love 'em or hate 'em? Any big ones near you or coming your way this year that you think you'll go to? Who will you be going to see?

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

i like em

they're having a little one in kingfield, maine this year. kingfield is so far from the world. the only bands anyone outside of maine would know would be outbreak, have heart, radical attack, and MAYBE one up if anyone knows them. i think more than five different bands my friends are in are playing, which is my main reason for going. and a friend is putting it on.

and i'll be attending posi numbers, but thats not close to me. and i am mostly siked on murphys law, paint it black, and terror right now.

I'll probably get shit for this, but Im going to Ozzfest this summer. Ive never been to one, and it sounds like it's gonna be a marathon. There's a bunch of bands there Im excited to see.... Iron Maiden being one of them. Im also going to the Gigantour. It's a fest type thing, or at least that's what it's trying to be. It's the brain child of Dave Mustaine. Im just excited to see Megadeth again.

As for hardcore fests... I guess Im for them, but I dont really go to them. Ive been to two Stillborn fests, and I think that's pretty much it. Never been to Hellfest, and Im not sure I'd want to. I'd probably go to Posi Numbers fest if I wasnt lazy. Fests are cool in that you get to see plenty of bands, but they usually play really short sets depending upon the size of the fest.

Festivals are cool, but i think it's so wack when people call absouletly ANYTHING a fest.

"ooo theres 5 bands on this show, lets give it a tough name and call it a festival so kids will get off their ass' and drive 15 hrs to get here so they can tell their friends they did a 'roadtrip' for some kickass festival"

I think a festival really needs: Multiple stages, multiple days, other activities than just bands, lots and lots of bands etc etc. 5 Bands playing in a church hall is hardly a festival by any description.

That said, I had a blast at hellfest and posi numbers last year ... wish I could do it again.

I went to the warped tour when Bad Religion and NOFX were both playing. There was a girl who looked 12 years old wearing a hand made shirt that said "free hand jobs" on it. What a dork. I bet she'd never touched a dick in her life, and if anyone had asked her to actually give them a hand job she'd probably start crying.

Bad Religion and NOFX were awesome though.

im going to boston INfest, its gonna be good i think

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying

The big outdoor type fests suck... the sound and atmosphere are shit compared to a small indoor venue, plus the place is usually crawling with kids going to their only show of the year to have a fuckin' picnic. And it pisses me off that I'm too old now to stand around all day waiting for the 1 or 2 decent bands to come on. :)

i have been pestered into going to ozfest since the first one but never did due to the fact that i usually only care about 1-2 bands on it.
i have a dvd someone burned for me of hellfest 2 footage and i dont think i could stand it for the whole day
i went to one festival and it was in philly in 93..you guessed it lollafuckinpalooza...i got sunburnt till my skin was blostered, the concessions were way too fuckin expensive, primus and the goats were ok , and rage against the machine didnt play, they came out and stood there naked for 20 minutes to protest the PMRC...i'm glad i didnt pay for my ticket....never again
i did get to see a friend hit a cop in the had with a rock though, that was interesting.....

the only one i'm really considering is "sounds of the underground", just to see Madball and Clutch. Just not sure if i want to take off work to sit around in the heat listening to a bunch of metal bands i could care less about.

Did anyone go to Alive and Well in asbury a few years back?
that was a great show, they need to have that again.

\"thank you very little\"
