DOES YOUR BAND/LABEL NEED A WEBSITE/WEBSTORE?
So, I've been building websites, webstores, etc. for bands and labels over the past few years. All of the people I've worked for have pretty much
come to me via word-of-mouth, but I figured it couldn't hurt to post on some message boards about what I can offer. I also came up with some package

I think the 'LifeIsABitch' comment was in reference to this being a new board member whos first post was selling something... and something expensive
at that.

is it really spamming if it's a legit service at a much cheaper price than anyone else offers these services to legit labels? the going rate for
download codes alone is $200+.

Spamming is more of an abuse issue, than anything. Someone coming to a board that's related to a service they're offering and making one post about
said services is hardly enough to get my panties in a wad. Now if he kept coming here and bumping and never contributing then sure....that's got the
suck.
Its far less annoying than some random listen to my band post by someone that is hitting every board on earth and never coming back.
You guys seriously need a hug.

How is that nay different? Especially since there are already tons of "regbulars" here that design website (myself included) it is like me grabbing a
bag of apples and trying to sell my apples to someone at a fruit stand that already sells apples.

Well I didn't say it was different, just less annoying.
I don't see someone coming here, posting a well worded easy to scan advertisement for a related service that annoying I guess.
If any of you went to any other boards I frequent and posted that clear and concise of an advertisement of your services I wouldn't get wound up
either. I don't really follow links in sigs to investigate what everyone does so I wouldn't know who does web design without someone poking me and
pointing in that direction.
So in a nutshell,
-things that people could possibly use, regardless of their cost value compared to the same service by others = not that annoying.
-people coming and posting about the next generic band that sucks and will fade away in 3 months = only slightly more annoying.

If you're starting to notice, nobody is annoyed that you're here and posting. Just that most of us aren't too fond of the first post from anyone
being an attempt to sell... well, anything. I'm sure that everyone here would welcome more posts from you, and I'm guessing you're good people given
that you've worked with A389 before. And it's not a problem advertising you're services, as long as it's not obviously the only reason you're here.
But I'd still hire BD or one of the other guys first... not that I need a website.

EXACTLY! It is the spoken / unspoken rule of the Thorp board. Feel free to post here, we don't like to scare people off but if it is just to
advertise then fuck right off.
