too bad i don't like ALKALINE TRIO

... i'm kinda into this skull/heart logo thing. as a matter fact, all of their merch has a nice gorey-esque morbidity to it!

Ive never heard them, but Ive heard people say that theyre not half bad. And I guess the theme of their merch goes along with their lyrics. Sorta emo-gore if I understand correctly. It sounds kinda dumb, but I wont judge it until Ive heard it.

i've only heard the two new songs they've got playing on their site. i mean, i get why people like it; it's catchy and like a mild greenday.

I love this band...
the tunes are catchy...
all they sing about is killing girlfriends, Drinking, smoking, and just being fucked up humans.

definitely check out the good mourning disc, I haven't heard the new one yet, but it seems a bit more mellow from the tracks on their site. it essentially is morbid punk I guess you could say.

Should you read this Duane, they are, according to my tv guide, on Conan tonight.

Their new CD is awesome. Definitely nowhere near as good as the new Green Day though, of course.

I think they have a good melodic punk sound in the way that fellow Windy City natives Naked Raygun & Pegboy did. I actually like them, although the production on the new one is sorta wimpy. I do encourage lawful downloading or CD purchase of the Good Mouring record. Also, never seen 'em live- so I dunno about the snooze factor. I'm used to Madball, SOIA, Sheer Terror and Killing Time so I'm often unimpressed with the live energy of other bands from the other facets of punk.

hahahahaha... yeah, being a fan of hardcore sure does raise your expectations of a live performance to a level that most other genres can't meet. my wife and i were listening to Aqualung last night, and she commented that they were going to be in new york soon. i just looked at her and was like, 'dear god, could you imagine?!' what do people do at an aqualung show?

i dont like thier music, but its kinda cool how they make fun of all the other lame ass pop punk bands. And seeing as kieth morris is in one of thier videos at least these guys know thier roots

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying

i honestly don't know how one would classify aqualung. it's really slow, and soft, and more or less just a guy, a piano, and a few other minimal instruments. i love it cause it puts me to sleep in about seven seconds. i think the dude used to sing for The 45s, and one of his songs was used in a VDUB commercial a few years back, and that's when he blew up.

Aqualung, I haven't heard 'em, but for a while there, every time I saw or heard the name I just assumed they were talking about Jethro Tull. Seriously, who the fuck names their band after a Tull song???
