some of you seem to be big into video games, so you might appreciate this story. basically about how things like the iphone are quickly replacing consoles.

Future of gaming is on the iPhone? Bullshit. Companies just like it because it is cheap to develope for but it is not a gaming console in the least. Real gamers could care less. It is somthing used to kill time here and there for like 10 minutes. It is not any type of experience.

Now Project Natal, THAT is the future of gaming.

i think the future of gaming is with stuff like this

http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/03/20/ge-uses-digital-hologra...

and this

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/pattie_maes_demos_the_six...

if they can do that shit now, think of what they will be doing in about ten years.
i can see people playing GTA in the street.
they're already talking about introducing augmented reality to iphones and smartphones so you can point your camera at something and on the screen a load of info will pop up.

That is pretty cool shit. Did you check out the links Honus posted? Some similar stuff to the first video you posted and that is coming to Xbox next year.

that xbox stuff is crazy.
i guess the technology they are using to recognise the player's arms and legs etc isn't too different to the stuff they use to create characters in games nowadays, it's just they're letting us use actually utilise it.
i can see the voice recognition taking a while to tweak though.
