Rorschach

Not sure if anyones a fan or not, but I got the remastered double LP that they sold at the 6 reunion shows they did a few weeks ago. It came with a single use download card so I downloaded it and then made a zip file and put it on Megaupload incase anyone was interested....

Rorschach was a New Jersey-based band that existed from 1989 to 1993. The group often blended hardcore punk and dissonant elements of metal providing the inspiration to a number of hardcore and post hardcore bands thereafter.
The first release by the band, Remain Sedate, shows the band's sound at a stage when they played fast, heavy hardcore with a metal slant and raspy hardcore vocals. At this time they also drew heavy comparisons to Die Kreuzen for their bizarre chord progressions and Charles Maggio's unearthly howl.[1] However, as the band progressed, they developed a slower, more sinister, sludge sound that was influenced by fellow New York band the Swans.[1] Additionally, the vocals developed into high-pitched, tortured screaming rather than shouting, due in part to voice problems Maggio was experiencing at the time. This change in sound can be heard primarily on their second full-length release, Protestant. Shortly after issuing this album, the group disbanded, some members eventually joining Deadguy. Rorschach performed reunion shows September 23 - 27, 2009 in the northeast U.S.

RORSCHACH featured future members of DEADGUY, BEAUTIFUL SKIN, COMPUTER COUGAR, KISS IT GOODBYE, RADIO TO SATURN, AMBUSH (on and on and on….) They were active from 1989 until 1993 and played a significant role in the shaping of metallic hardcore music and its aesthetic as it exists today. Charles Maggio, frontman for the band, is the founder of the Gern Blandsten record label.

I know the Allston show was pretty crowded but not sold out, but the 2 shows in New York were on the same day and I beleive they both sold out so the LPs probably sold pretty well.

That's pretty cool, I used to be really into them, but haven't listened to 'em in years.

haha... yeah I did and yes I am!

I gotta wait until the black vinyl comes out in a few weeks and get that one too.

The Silver Vinyl one I have actually has a Black Vinyl sticker on it which I guess is a 'rare error'. LOL....

Thats funny! I wonder if all the silver ones have the black vinyl sticker? I only said it was 'rare' because I got an answer from Charles the singer and he said it was definitly an odd mistake.

I wonder if they will run really short of stickers for the black vinyl copies!
