The Business - Under the Influence
I recently picked up The Business - Under the influence. I got it cheap from a friend and what can i say i am a sucker for cover albums. Its decent
not great. It has some interesting covers though, especially 2 Greenday Covers, which is kind of a surprise, seems like Greenday should cover the
Business.
Here is the track listing.
Pride
Crucified
Anarchy in the U.K.
Do They Owe Us a Living?
Do Anything You Wanna Do
Hurry up Harry
Basket Case
Get Out of My House
Maybe It's Because I'm a Londoner
London Calling
Tell Us the Truth
When I Come Around
Do They Owe Us a Living
Well I've got a feeling I'm gonna get mine in. Retribution let the games begin.

Yeah, while I've loved the Business for years, I've always thought their covers were mostly pretty lackluster. That Slapshot cover they did on their
split with The Murphys was terrible. I think they did a pretty good job with the Eddie & The Hot Rods and Crass covers they did, but most others I've
heard them do, I wished I hadn't. It is bizarre that they cover not one, but two Green Day songs though.

The green day covers are definitely an odd choice... curious to hear them though- how are they? "Do Anything you Wanna Do" is such a great song,
curious to hear what they did with it.

The Greenday covers would be better if they didn't happen is my opinion, Mickey's voice just seems really out of place on those.

great album
But "Welcome to the real world" is the best stuff they ever did IMO. I think this album is more Rock n Roll than punk or oi....it's some amazing
songs that never get old....Do a runner,We'll take em on,Ten years....fucking great songs. Don't pass up on this record if you haven't heard it....far
superior to their other stuff.

Agreed- that and a few tracks off the "official bootleg '81" are head and shoulders above the rest of their stuff.
