Finally completed my collection of full lengths from The Sons Of Hercules (still have a handful of singles to pick up) and I've been blasting them for
most of the day. For those not familiar, and I'm guessing that's most of you, The Sons are a garagey band from San Antonio and Austin who sound like
the perfect blend of Stooges, Dead Boys, and Sonics and have been going strong for quite a while now. The singer is older than dirt and scary as fuck,
he kinda looks like a cross between Iggy and Stiv except he's something like 6 foot 8 or so. One of his old bands, The Vamps, was the opening act for
the Sex Pistols when they played San Antonio in '78. The new Sons Of Hercules album came out about a month ago on Saustex records which is run by one
of the guys from an old legendary Austin band called The Hickoids that I would also highly recommend checking out. Those guys are back up and running
now, by the way, and their live shows are insane amounts of fun.
