FALL RIVER JOINS THE THORP FAMILY

We are proud to announce that Philadelphia's FALL RIVER has joined the THORP RECORDS family. FALL RIVER deliver brutal tech-oriented metallic hardcore onslaughts in the vein of CONVERGE, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and COALESCE. The band has a number of upcoming tourdates, including HELLFEST and THE WARPED TOUR. They will be recording in July, with Simon Brody of DROWNINGMAN at the engineering helm, for their debut THORP full length which should see a November 2005 release. In the mean time, download "I'm Not A Big Fan Of Parentheses (Burn Baby Burn)" and let us know what you think!

On first very quiet listen it sounds very good. noone will ever be able to pigeonhole this label, especially after this signing and drowningman. i'll listen to it loud tomorrow.

I can already hear people calling this band a gimmick because of the female singer. It'll be the same people who hate on Walls of Jericho and say that the only reason theyre big is because they've got the novelty factor of having a female singer going for them. I think that's a bunch of bullshit. So anyway, I cant wait to hear this. Ive actually been into this type of music lately. I was on a Dillinger Escape Plan kick yesterday. I listened to both of their full lengths. I usually cant even get through one of them before my head starts to hurt.

Holy shit I don't mean to name drop, but my old roommate Coop from souderton(sp?) pa is/was friends with the guitarist who use to have dreads. He accidently left their "2448724" 3 song cd in my cd player I just came upon recently. I need to return that to him hahaha.

small fucking world.

I think they sound alright.

Congrats to both fall river and thorp!

(Here comes the name dropping, sorry) I graduated with John (drums) and Kevin (guitar) and they are two of the nicest/coolest guys in the world and have more than earned this! Congrats fellas!

Thorp, I applaud you for this signing. fall river, while already amazing is so full of potential, they have matured and changed so much from their first nearly unlistenable project (sorry guys) that will rename nameless, to the scorching technical metalcore they now play, Fall River may be the next big thing in hardcore, a pleasent change.

And anyone that cries gimmick because of ali should be slapped, ali's vocal/lyric combination are so real and powerful that the ideal a "gimmick" is laughable (to see what im talkin about get a hold of "2448724" and listen to "at least you bought her flowers"

i usually like it when women do harsh vocals, probably why i love nuclear death. judging from this one mp3 she's allright, not spectacular. she could do with some variation. the rest of the music didn't strike me as too original.
