Well,the store itself was not opened since 1978...they started as part of 99 Records at 99 Macdougal St in the West Village (around the corner from
Bleecker Bob's)...I think it's a restaurant,now..when they moved out of that location,they added the X (as on extension,something like that),and
dropped the records....'Still stinks that they're gone,though.
Will learn to Tap Dance,eventually...Will have you broads Hula,definitely...Trust me,you'll see.

yeah.. i think i knew that, but that all predates me.
when did 99 Records close?
i didn't start shopping 99x until the mid 90s.
great store for shoes and boots.
i never liked the places on st. marks - too punk, too goth for me.
this joint always seemed pretty straight up, no attitude from the staff.
