the spanish prisoner - david mamet. and steve martin not trying to be funny.
arsenic and old lace - old cary grant movie directed by frank capra, but it's goofy as hell and just really funny.

love actually is probably my second favorite (non comedy) movie right behind sense and sensibility, which is my absoute, all time favorite movie. how's that for fuckin' sensitive?

-the station agent (a little quirky sleeper of a movie. funny and sad)
-drowning mona(fantastic cast: jamie lee curtis, bette midler, danny devito etc. really funny, amazing that it was a complete flop at the boxoffice. i guess not so amazing when you consider the intelligence of most people)
-fubar (i've watched this so many times. it's so dead on accurate it's unreal. i still laugh so hard every time i watch it)
-streetwise(documentary from 20 yrs ago about street kids in seattle. incredible film)
-the control room(really good documenary on Al-Jazeera)
-little otik (or anything by Jan Svankmajer for that matter)

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, ?You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I?m just not close enough to get the job done.? George Carlin

I dont watch many movies, because I usually think that every movie I see sucks. I'll recommend two that I dont think suck at all.

American Beauty (kinda obvious, but it's my favorite movie ever)
The Sweet Hereafter (Canadian film. Slow place, and definately not an upper)

yar, i loved boondocks saints, bought it when it first came out on DVD

just take a look at the papers
your leaders
they\'re killers
they\'re liars
what they do in your
name to make the bodies pile higher
the murders, the terror
they\'ve done it forever
as we sit band and smile
at the script they sell us
but now the victims, they\'re rising
their numbers\'s multiplying
they want their revenge for the years
that they\'ve been dying
