Megadeth has some amazing songs, but they also have some of the worst songs. There is no in between with Megadeth.

never liked em. Anyone ever heard the Trent Reznor remix of some Megadeth tunes. I think he did a complete album of remixes for Mustanger.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

Musically, I liked a lot of their songs, but I always hated his vocals.

The remix of Rust in Peace that came out some years back SUCKS. Mustaines ego just butchered it.

I'm a huge "Countdown to Extinction" fan and I like "Youthanasia" a lot too, but I'm not familiar with their other albums.

I still like Peace Sells best.
and I really don't like Dave's vocals either.

Countdown to Extinction was the beginning of their decline. I'd check out the older stuff.

They're doing a 20th anniversary tour for this record in March with Testament & Exodus. Megadeth doing "Rust In Peace" in its entirety and Testament
doing all of "The Legacy" Going to try to go.

I love this album. Nice choice and the guitar work on this album is out of sight.

they are doing a tour now where they play the entire Rust in Peace record start to finish. I think its the 20th anniversary.
So Far... So Good... So What is my favorite.
Does anyone have the stuff Dave Mustain did with Lee Ving? I think it was called MD50.

Megadeth's albums kind of followed a similar pattern that Metallica's did. Everything before Countdown is classic, and Countdown is pretty awesome on
most tracks... after that, meh. Then recently they've been doing some really good shit again.
Rust In Peace is amazing, but Peace Sells is my favorite. Although, Symphony of Destruction will always have a place because it's really the first
Megadeth song I ever heard.

I read something a couple of years ago saying they had re-released it, but took out Lee Ving's vocals and replaced them with Dave Mustaine's.

yeah I was excited last night because I found it online... but its the 'remastered version' and I read on Wikipedia that when they were remastering
all the Megadeth stuff Dave wanted to remaster MD.45 some how the vocal and harmonica tracks were missing so Dave rerecorded the vocals and mimicked
the harmonica on the guitar.
To me that means either Dave wanted 100% control of the record so he took Lee Ving out or Lee Ving didnt want anything to do with it so Dave took him
out, but I seriously doubt that the tracks were 'lost'.
Its to bad because now it sounds just like a Megadeth record.
Anyone got the original version???

Dave Mustaine, just like James Hetfield, is a dick. It's no wonder he was booted from Metallica. No band has room for two egos that big.

if anyone gives a fuck,
Returning MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"Greetings Droogies, Rattleheads and everyone around the world!
"It is great to be back in MEGADETH! As you can imagine, it's been quite a week getting back in the saddle with a gazillion things to get a handle on
before we hit the road.
"We are rehearsing for the upcoming 'Rust In Peace' 20th anniversary tour this week at Vic's Garage [MEGADETH's recording studio in San Marcos,
California], and I must say, the songs are ripping! Dave [Mustaine; guitar/vocals] and I sound like we haven't missed a beat. We have a special style
we've created together over the years and it just fell right back into place instantly. I've definitely missed his ferocious guitar playing....no one
does it quite like him.
"Chris Broderick [guitar] is a fantastic player and Shawn Drover [drums] lays down a nice pocket that keeps the songs sounding like the records, which
makes them a treat to play to. Overall, the studio is a great hang and kind of like a music boot camp with guitars, amps and drums at our disposal so
we can always be playing and working on tunes.
"As always, there are gear needs to sort out before a tour, especially with music this demanding and particular. The crew is working very hard to get
the details in order now to ensure an amazing show.
"I want to thank you all for your overwhelming support, congratulations and excitement on my return back with the band and I look forward to seeing
you all at the upcoming shows. Be ready for 'The Punishment Due'!"
Silence is golden but violence is platinum.
