R.A. The Rugged Man

New 2010 video dedicated to his family. I didn't realize how much of it was true until I saw the pictures at the end.

that was cool.

he's one of the best rappers that most have never even heard of.

dude's been rapping so long, he has a song with Notorious BIG.

he's been signed, then dropped for "unprofessional behavior", more than any other rapper.

That was always one of my favorite things about that song he did with Jedi Mind Tricks, the fact that is was based on a true story. Rather sad when you think about the tale he tells in that song.

BKT.

i'm guessing this is some sort of official video to Uncommon Valor?
i'm blocked from youtube at work and can't check it for a few hours.

either way, his verse on that is possibly the most powerful verse in a hip hop song i've ever heard, especially in recent years.
Up there with Immortal Technique's 'Dance With The Devil' and 'You Never Know' both of which still hit hard when i listen to them now.
Certainly better than anything JMT have done themselves.

echoing what I said in the Ill Bill thread, R.A. is one of the best hip hop acts i've ever seen live. Always plays all the bangers (even does his verse from this song), a real live wire and hilarious to behold on stage and a totally chilled offstage. This is how all rappers should be.. fuck all that rock star shit.

Exactly how I feel. Not sure if anyone knows, he produced or wrote Bad Biology....fucked up movie about a chick with 7 clits. R.A. and Vinny Paz are both in it for a few minutes.

I don't think I will ever understand the appeal of hip hop.

yep! I remember the shock of when I first saw him with his 'new look' and didnt even really think it was him mainly due to the weight loss and the hair-do!

That verse on Uncommon Valor has always been one of my faves.
Rugged Man is awesome in general, wicked live too, when we went a coupla months back it was just him going back and forth between his laptop trying to run the tracks as he had no DJ and starting the wrong ones and stuff, so budget but funny and he still pulled it off.
