bass playing singers

I'm a big fan of when a singer plays bass... lets name them!

Lemmy
Tom Araya
Blackie Lawless (I know he plays guitar sometimes too)
Phil Rind (Sacred Reich)
Keith Bennett (bonus points for being a left hander)
Mark Lind
Jack Blade (Night Ranger)
Les Claypool
Glen Benton (Deicide)
John Doe (X)
Mark Hoppus (Blink 182)
Gene Simmons
Geddy Lee
Sting
Kip Winger
David Vincent (Morbid Angel)
Roger Waters

more?

How about when a bass player isn't a singer/bass player he's the heaviest guy in the band. Could be a conspiracy.

Especially true in metal bands. Bass players are always the "fat" guy.

Paul McCartney.

The guy from Lawrence Arms.

The bass is such an essential part of a quality sounding band. Unfortunately most people have to dumb down the bass parts if they're singing and I think it's a disservice to the songs. And the first person I'd point the finger at for that is me. Paul McCartney manages to play great bass parts and sing flawlessly. I'd imagine Geddy Lee pulls it off too. Gene Simmons plays great parts and sings.

Matt Freeman from Rancid plays bass and sings some songs, not sure if this counts as it is only part time

Title Fight singer plays bass and sings

Well I've got a feeling I'm gonna get mine in. Retribution let the games begin.

this is totally true, but its gotta be the right band. i really think nine times out of ten not having a singer that just sings ruins a bands stage presence
