NEED SOME NEW YORK ADVICE
i'm going to NYC for the first time ever to see a 2 night show at a place called The Bellhouse in Brooklyn on Labor Day weekend.
here is a map link that shows the trip from LaGuardia to The Bellhouse. my hotel is half a mile away.
LaGuardia To Brooklyn
rental car looks to be around $100/day.
anyone know how much a taxi or public transportation would be each way and how long it'd take?
Google says it's a 20 minute drive, but up to an hour when traffic is fucked.
anybody know what the area is like in Brooklyn around 7th Street and 3rd Ave?
i'll be walking a half mile from the hotel to the show.
can anyone recommend a great pizza place? a deli? falafels?
it's gonna be a whirlwind trip leaving on Friday and coming back Sunday.
any suggestions on how to spend my Saturday afternoon?
besides trying to find Paul Bearer?

for public transportation, you can check HopStop (http://www.hopstop.com/?city=newyork).
traffic in NYC is hard to predict in my (limited) experience. when the roads are relatively clear, you can get anywhere pretty fast. when there's
traffic... it takes as long as it takes. i've driven through the tunnel into the city in 20 minutes, and i've sat in the same 1/8 mile for 2 hours
trying to get to the tunnel.
check out brooklyn monster factory (http://www.myspace.com/brooklynmonsterfactory or ask MikeFromInhuman on here). should be a cool place, and i'm sure they can help you hunt down
paulie.

Do not attempt to drive in NYC. Parking your car is a science and can cost upwards of $30 per day.
The public transit system is very good so take the subway. Cabs aren't very expensive either so for late night runs flag a hack down.

Pizza : L&B Spumoni Gardens,in Brooklyn (or Lenny & John's);or Lombardi's in NYC...Famous Original Ray's????? Of course, you had to be from New England
to enjoy that garbage.
Bagels : Any decent HOT BAGELS shop in Brooklyn/Queens/Staten Island(Esp. on Forest Avenue)...Ess-A-Bagel can suck a dick and die.
Deli: Sandwich King in Astoria; Katz's in NYC (kinda touristy, but they do make a great corned beef/pastrami.Hot Dogs are good, too). And,this can sound
as racist as you're going to take it - Whiter neighborhood = Better deli's when you're in Bkln/Queens/SI..It's just how things have always been.
Considering that NO ONE is from NY,anymore, you should be able to drive in the city with no problem.Just PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE DOING.
Then, the most important part to remember is to LEAVE,AND TAKE SOME MORE OF YOUR KIND WITH YOU.
Will learn to Tap Dance,eventually...Will have you broads Hula,definitely...Trust me,you'll see.

^lol!
make no mistake, i will leave, but i ain't takin' nobody wit' me.
looks like a cab ride from the airport to the hotel is gonna be $35 each way, so i'll probably skip the rental.
Brooklyn Monster Factory is close to where i'll be, so i'll check that out.
are there any good music stores in the Brooklyn area?
