How much do you know about religion?

I think it was Brit who posted this on Facebook.

Here's the quiz:
http://features.pewforum.org/quiz/us-religious-knowledge/

I got 14/15. Guess being raised Catholic has finally paid off. Had no clue about First Great Awakening, though.

Here's the article about how Americans don;t know much about religion:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_rel_religious_literacy_poll

If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

I did a facebook post from the CBC story - http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2010/09/28/world-americans-tes...

Shit is funny, atheists & agnostics know more than anyone claiming to be religous.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

My mother was Catholic and my father is Church of England so I was never baptized. Not to turn this thread into something but I take real issue with the church my mother was raised in. On her death bed she wanted a priest to come and read her last rights. The priest showed up and told her that he couldn't administer her last rights because she was divorced 25 years earlier from a man who used to beat the shit out of her and my older brother. At the time she went to the church to find help but they didn't support her leaving an abusive relationship.

I was married in a United Church who didn't seem to mind that I wasn't baptized.

fuck, i only got 7/15 and i did religious studies for five years!
we focussed on Buddhism though, the rest of it was philosophy and ethics so I don't really know shit about the Church or the Bible.

The Pope visited London recently and upon landing he equated atheists with the nazis (and this is coming from a guy who was in the fucking Hitler Youth) and one of his aides said Heathrow airport was like a third world country before becoming conveniently ill and fleeing back to Rome after everyone called him a racist haha

This atheist asshole got 14 out of 15.

I really don't wanna get started talking about that speech the pope spouted off in London, it seriously pissed me off that he can get away with blatantly rewriting history to suit his purposes in front of an audience.

Well, you don't expect an obscenely rich and secretive organization like the church to pay for such things, do you?
