"We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that have occurred. Our condolences go out to the family of the victim.
We would like to thank our friends, family, and all the employees of DC9. DC9 is a special environment of some of strongest friendships that could
only be compared to a close family, which we consider ourselves.
We very much look forward to our day in court
Stand strong bars & stars"
We apologize to the family, but we roll deep so fuck you we'll see you in court.
AF is playing in Philly tonight.
I am too lazy to go.
My excuse is VIP is like 16 minutes long and it's gonna take longer than that to park down there.....

It was club staff that did that?
Peace out, DC9.
i mean, they did this show and the business. Thats the only two good ones in some 5 years of being open.
the red and black and palace of wonders (on h st, in NE) are set to open as one bar this week (they were enxt door) called the Red Palace. Upstaris
will have a stage and like 300 capacity.
There's also the rock n roll hotel, which i'd imagine is over 600.
juan, tonight's show is at the north star bar, isn't it? parking shouldn't be bad over there. well, 'bad' meaning hard to find. it's definitely
'bad' as in risky.
definitely wild that dc doesn't have more venues for our kind of shows.
i guess 930 and black cat aren;t so hardcore any more?
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
I always try and steer clear of any venue with bouncers/security for gigs for this exact thing. I've been attending punk/hardcore gigs for around
14-15 years now and can honestly say in that time it only ever gets hostile or kicks off when bouncers or security are present. I however am not
generalising as it's not my thing! But yeah I've seen more violence at venues with bouncers/security present at gigs than I have without.
Living a life kept shut by a dream,
I'm reaching out to grasp my reality.
Hands of time wrap tight around my neck, and hit me so hard,
leaving me eyes black.
staring at a ceiling,
wondering why i never left,
penning words in a notebook,
wondering why haven't slept.
sanity is tapping in a cell
inside my fucking head.
begging for redemption
after hearing what was said.
the nights, they will not sleep
cause the days, have played for keeps.
Yeah..........It happened when AF played here at an all day event called City invasion. They also beat the shit out of one of the members of the Radio
dead one's because they thought he was trying to sneek in booze instead of finding out the facts that the venue owner had agreed with the band about
them getting their own booze and being allowed to drink it back stage. As the night drew shorter they (The bouncers) got more and more aggressive
towards the crowd, in and outside the venue. The pinnacle of the night was when 5 fully grown door"men" starting picking on a young (14-15yr olds)
crusty couple, all because the girl had had to much to drink and wanted to sit outside against the wall next to the entrance, 1 of the
doormen/bouncers exact words was "Move that fucking slag now before I do". What pissed me off the most was that out of the all the people stood
outside who witnessed it only 1 person said anything! ME.

it was ok at best.....set list was real cool.....all of victim, united blood ep, 4 or 5 from cause for alarm...crucified....a couple of newer
ones....the sound was fucked....not sure why but it was all off to me....they have some younger dude playing drums who was real good....
also, this story really has nothing to do with AF and Mother of Mercy, and frankly, they don't deserve to be included in every friggin headline about
this. this is not a knock against you, danny, but all of the music news websites out there that have been using similar headlines really shouldn't
have been. i mean, it is of interest to us only because of who was on the bill that night, but the show was over and the venue likely empty by the
time this happened. coulda been anyone playing there that night.

it was a total last min thing...i was about to leave for work, called them, found out it was dead and said "cool, im not comin then" and went to the
show
it's cool when a club hires bouncers who are into the scene & music & aren't there just looking for problems. Got a little roughed up by bouncers at
a Youth Brigade show last year, but I was asking for it in retrospect, I was heckling some kids in the pit who kept running into me while I was trying
to stand to the side (1 drunk retard spilt my last beer all over tireironsaint, who did not look happy). I did think it was funny that they had 3
guys twice my size punching & kicking me on the ground, 1 of those goons could have easily just tossed me out the door onto the sidewalk

It's like the old Ron White joke: "I didn't know how many of 'em it was gonna take to kick my ass, but I knew how many they was gonna use..."
