New label from BlankTV, Dirty Filthy Mugs 1st release

Big news from our friends over at BlankTV:

Dirty Filthy Mugs to premiere video for “Bodkin Downs” on BlankTV.com today!

Los Angeles, CA. October 19, 2010 – Dirty Filthy Mugs, one of today's greatest street punk bands have recently completed their newest music video for the single “Bodkins Down,” which is being debuted today exclusively on BlankTV.com! Be sure to head over to BlankTV, the net's biggest punk and indie music channel, to check out the brand new video and purchase the 7" for Bodkin Downs on BlankTV's own Patient Zero Records.

In conjunction with the video, BlankTV/Patient Zero Records have launched a merch page where fans can order the 7" Bodkin Downs.

Bodkin Downs track listing is as follows:
A - Bodkin Downs 3:43
B - Running Wild 3:13
Patient Zero Records

About the band:

The Mugs are:
Matt Wedgley (vocals)
Ace Facial (guitar)
Timbecile (guitar, squeezebox)
Joey Travers (bass)
Conk (drums)

There is nothing cute, pompous, or pretentious about Dirty Filthy Mugs. They are here to play aggressive, fun, honest punk rock...and that's exactly what they do! So here it is, our first 7" and we're PSYCHED!!! BODKIN DOWNS is the first release from BlankTV's Patient Zero Records.

Tic-tic-tic-a-tac-a-tac, the rim shots get in your head, like a leprechaun dancing a jig on your skull. Pointed riffs punch you in the face so hard you’ll think Mike Tyson is speed bagging the six-string, bare knuckle and he’s here to eat your children. This isn’t one of your grandma’s tired old punk tracks. This ain’t no place to be. Bodkin Downs, make me insane!

And if you haven't seen the video yet then GET TO IT!

Dirty Filthy Mugs show no signs of slowing and will be releasing a new full-length album in February, 2011, while continuing to bring their incredibly addictive live punk mayhem to as many punks, skins, skaters, psychos, mods, rockers, hooligans and outcasts as possible!

First pressing of 500 copies, on black vinyl with a super rare B-Side of "Running Wild." "Runnin Wild" will not be available in any other format so this is it. Recorded at Castle Productions in Los Angeles, California, by Bradley Cook.

Just to clarify, I think this is the first release of the label, not the band. Dirty Filthy Mugs are fucking great and have a few releases out already. Only one full length so far, but two or three EPs, all of which are well worth the meager sums they're charging.

Hadn't seen this video yet, good stuff.

yes, you're right - poor thread title structure on my part!
BlankTV is starting a label and the first release they're putting out is by Dirty Filthy Mugs

I keep waiting for more people to get into these guys, I think they've got something good going on in that whole Swingin' Utters, early Dropkick Murphys, Street Dogs kinda sound. Definitely not breaking new ground musically, but good songs are still good songs and they seem to be putting things across sincerely and with lyrics that I can relate to pretty damn well.
