Hell of a lot of this kind of shit going on over here at the moment with Latvian's. They've been gaining access to people's houses then claiming
squatters rights. The scam seems to boil down to a gangster first gaining access then in a round about way sub-lets the property to these "squatters"
and because money has changed hands and a contract (badly written) has been exchanged, the law is on their side. In one case a 67 year old man on a
three day trip to visit friends came home to find his belongings thrown on the front garden and what can only be described as a women in a troll
costume holding a large kitchen knife while guarding the front door. I Don't disagree with squatting, but on this level it's just fucking bullshit.
How is the law so blind to allow this kind of "squatting" Just makes me want to blow my own fucking brains out.

some friends in belgium used to squat. if i remember their explanation correctly, they could take over a place once it had been vacant for a year. i
don't recall the details, but basically, they'd keep track of places, wait a year, move in, change the locks, then somehow, it became wicked hard for
the owner to get them out. but i distinctly remember the one year part. i don't know any new york squatters that paid a lick of attention to that
kind of stuff, though.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

You want to squat in an abandoned building because you're too cheap/lazy/paying rent goes against some political belief, fine. You start breaking
