The Great Phone Debate Again.......
My cell contract is up in a month, so i can get a deal on a new phone, when i renew. I love my Blackberry, but it does lag pisses me off sometimes.
There aren't any new Blackberry models I'm too crazy about right now, and i prefer a touch screen.
SO...I might become one of those 'iPhone' people...
Now which model do i get? 3G, 3GS, 4??
Can i open excel/word files on the iPhone? This is a must.
I know nothing about them...
BD i'm looking in your direction...

If you're gonna get an iPhone, get the 4. I dont have that one, but just becuae
I havent upgraded yet, I currently have the 3GS
I would go with the lesser gig unless you think you wanna use it
as an iPod, but I dont use mine for that at all.
I'm not 100% sure, but I belive that I have opened excel files on my phone.
I'll try to give it a shot later and post up the results unless BD answers you first.
unrelated to the iPhone, I've heard pretty good things about the Evo, but heard really bad things about the Epic.

my friend had the Epic on Sprint and I think the Evo is one model up from the Epic so that might be sprint too, but I dont know if they are available
on other carriers too or not.

I will say that the only other cell phones I've ever had were a T-Mobile Sidekick II and a T-Mobile Dash.
I liked the Sidekick when I got it, but the web stuff became outdated and most sites didnt work. Thats why I got the Dash, but it sucked from the
get-go and I hated it.
I've had the iPhone since about 6 months after it first came out and I love it. The only thing that I think could be better is the camera, but other
than that I have no complaints. Even when a new one comes out they offer software updates for the older ones and they are almost as good.
I have a friend that had an iPhone and loved it, but he moved to Arizona and the AT&T service sucked so he had to get rid of it. He got a Droid and he
likes it a lot, but not as much as the iPhone.

I have no idea. Being Apple, I imagine you'd have to buy an app for them. But I could be wrong.

You can view excel & word documents that come attached to emails. You need an app like QuickOffice or Doc To Go to edit them.
