I think that song licks moose balls, fucking terrible. That said, I'll still buy the album cause they always have good songs. The only album they've
done that I hated was Blackout.
‘Do you know what a love letter is? It’s a bullet from a fucking gun. Straight through your heart.’
with the exception of the drums at the VERY beginning, if you played just the first 35 seconds for me, i'd swear that was a pogues song. there's just
something about the banjo and the whistle and the cadence that sounds exactly like a pogues song (albeit one w/o shane singing).
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
I don't think I need to tell anyone on here how much I love this band, but that song is fucking terrible. Worst shit I have ever heard from DKM. I
really hope the rest of the album is a whole lot better then this crap.
It's just Ken,and his fantasy of being a good singer...Does Al even have a purpose in this band? 'Fucking sick of this "Irish/American" sit down, and
I'll tell you a tale,Laddie crap.
Will learn to Tap Dance,eventually...Will have you broads Hula,definitely...Trust me,you'll see.
The song sounds decent. BUt what is up with Al hardly singing? I know they manage at least 1 song were he is barely on it, but they never made it a
single.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

haha yeah .
me having grown up in an Irish family never really saw what was so great / interesting about being so....bad skin, drinking problems, hand grenades
etc
Wow, after putting out a decent album for the first time in a long time this is not a promising followup so far. Beyond the instrumentation, I don't
get a Pogues vibe from this song at all.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, ?You know, I want to set those people over there on
fire, but I?m just not close enough to get the job done.? George Carlin

That's been my complaint for a long time. I didn't mind Ken's vocals when it was just background stuff, but that dude should never be doing lead
vocals. Why would he even want to when you have Al fucking Barr in the band. The Bruisers were and always will be a way better band than DKM.

I ain't hating on the song. I think it sounds good, but I think most issues may be had with the fact that this is DKM and people expect something
else.

End of discusion! I don't care how many times it has been stated. It is true.
There's really no comparing the two. One was a virtually unknown underground rock n' roll band and the other is a juggernaut of be-shamrocked
popularity. If as many people liked the Bruisers in 1998 that profess to have liked them today then he wouldn't have left the band for greener
pastures (pun intended there!).
Fair enough. Though I thought we already established that Al wasn't getting the role of singer that he deserves.
On what grounds do you begin to draw a comparison? Song quality? I suppose I would choose the Bruisers as the more timeless style of rock. I really
like their songwriting. As far as recording quality and performance on the recordings go I will take DKM. The Bruisers were always on a very tight
budget and often did things in one take and you can totally hear it. Al is out of key on pretty much all of those recordings but DKM have the luxury
of spending quality time in the studio getting things just right. The live show goes to DKM because watching them is like watching a 3 ring circus
complete with juggling pandas and midgets riding unicycles. The live experience goes to the Bruisers though because their shows had about 100 people
there and they weren't all dickheads like you get at a DKM show. But the band lost its charm after Jeff and the other guys left and Al continued with
a scab squad.
So my verdict is for the Cruisin for a Bruisin - Up In Flames era Bruisers.
It's definitely a departure, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they're trying to be the Pogues. I don't know, it was okay. Not my favorite thing
they've done, but it doesn;t make me want to hurt them or anything.
Now that is more like it. Great song and I am going to throw a chair through a window this St. Paddys day to this song and then puke on myself. I love
being Irish.
