Teacher suspended for being real on her blog.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110216/ap_on_hi_te/us_teacher_suspended_blog

A high school English teacher in suburban Philadelphia who was suspended for a profanity-laced blog in which she called her young charges "disengaged, lazy whiners" is driving a debate by daring to ask: Why are today's students unmotivated — and what's wrong with calling them out?

I can understand where she is coming from. Hell I work with homeless kids who have NOTHING and I constantly listen to them whine and complain. We give them a free and safe place to stay as well as services to help them get on their feet yet they shit on the organization I work for constantly and say we don't care about them. Shit drives me crazy!! Its got to be a generational thing.

Everyone feels entitled to shit nowadays. Like no one should have to actually work for anything. I think todays youth see their "heroes" not having to do anything and don't understand why they would have it any different.

A list of todays "heroes"

Paris Hilton
Kardashians (sp?)
Jersey Shore
A bucket of piss
Etc
Etc...

You know, I think out of all of those listed above, a bucket of piss would be the most intelligent.

I've been a junior-high school teacher for the last six years and you wouldn't believe the shit I've seen and heard. Make no mistake, I wouldn't trade any second of it for anything, but still, some of the stuff I see just depresses me.

I'm no expert, but in most of the cases, to me, at least, it starts with the parents. If you are born into a wrong family in a wrong environment, shit's worse than bad genes.

I have a class of my own, 25 kids in total. How many parents do you think show up at monthly parents' meetings at school where I discuss grades, behaviour and stuff? 12, maybe 14. That's 50% of parents who don't give a fuck about their own kids.

If it bleeds, we can kill it.

This sort of thing is an issue to all sorts of businesses. If you're gonna speak freely about your work then you really should expect someone to find it. That's kind of the point, right? Unfortunately there are consequences and many organizations have policies about this sort of thing.

On the other hand, I hate children.

Some people don't want to know the truth.

I tried to, but I couldn't handle the truth.
