Wow, Moscow... who knew?

I'd rather see Better Than A Thousand though.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

moby actually was behind me on the stage cause yot played on the floor.

i just found my BTA1K shirt from the first show at the safari club in dc.
floorpunch, hands tied, damnation and more.
dave byrd tells the story well... the lp wasnt even out but ken olden handed out tapes a month before. EVERYONE knew the songs. Funnny cause ray had no idea.
there's a video somewhere.

Both great, but YOT, come on, so much more too to this band.

I think if YOT were starting out in 2011, people would think they were a joke band because of some of the lyrics, and definitely because of Ray's weird, screeching bird style vocals.

Those vocals are probably one of my top 10 HC vocals ever. When we first heard BT1K, we figured it'd be Shelter-esque Cappo...when he started belting off those growls it was on.

Especially the second album...there's some spots were coming straight from We're Not In This Alone. Gives ya chills.

While I like YOT to a certain degree, not nearly as much as I did 10-15 years ago, that squawking thing he does cracks me up every time I hear it. I think it's hysterical.

I also loved Jeff Perlin's take on it when when Slumlords did "Drunk at the YOT Reunion."

Yeah that stuff is also on a Slumlords 7" and Jeff has it down 100%. It's creepy almost.

YOT = better than 99.9% of "Modern HC".
But I am an Old Boy, so I am biased :)
