Listening to....
Alot of jazz (fusion and ambient) and funk instrumental. If you guys like just laid back, cool beats with a good vibe check out a few of the
following:
Stanton Moore
Galactic
Beastie Boys "in sounds from way out" and "all mixed up"
The Philadelphia Experiment
The Harlem Experiment
The Detroit Experiment
I'm sure there is ALOT more, but this has been in regular rotation for me. It just feels like summer

just got back from the Roadburn festival in Holland and caught a set by Woven Hand which totally blew me away.
it's a one man project with a guy from a band called 16 Horsepower (who i'd not heard of either).
i've no idea how to describe it but i'll try.
it's got roots in american folk music but has a big Eastern influence too.
the main dude behind it all was brought up as a Nazarene christian and while he's still christian he basically rejects all of the usual bullshit that
goes with organised religion.
if you want something different check em out.

I'll have to give these a listen, I love some jazz & funk, but I don't know a whole lot besides the old well known classics
record collectors are pretentious assholes

I LOVE John Zorn, all I have is his "Naked City" album though. I will have to explore some other releases. I also dig:
Budos Band
El Michael (sp?) they do a instrumental interpretation of Wu Tangs enter the 36 chambers, very cool
Trombone Tony
I will also have to check out a few of the others mentioned here. I am really into mood music right now
