is there a way to turn off avatars?

Once in a while when I'm slow @ work I browse, but it's hard to be nonchalant w/ the goofy ass anime faces all over the screen.

I looked in my settings but missed it.

not on a per-user basis. either they're there and we all see them, or the feature gets removed entirely.

one thing i've done in the past is position my browser window so that the far left side is cut off my the viewing width of the monitor - basically so that part of the window is off the screen, if that makes sense.

You could use adblock to block specific avatars of your choosing.

different browsers handle missing images differently.
this is the URL that's listed on your account:
http://www.theb9.com/images/avatars/200628042949d2d29f0287c....
...which, obviously, yields a file not found.

you can delete or change it in 'user control panel' / 'Edit Profile'

Just be glad mine is a cartoon of me and not an actual picture. That'd break some screens.
