I finally got a job!
After being on unemployment since mid March 2010, I am happy to announce that a week from today I start a new job at...................HBO in NYC!
I got this job 100% on my own with no hookups or help whatsoever, 2 interviews and over a month of waiting.
To all of those on here on unemployment - HANG IN THERE and KEEP LOOKING. It WILL take a while, but you will get back on your feet!

first off, congratu-fuckin-lations. i can't imagine what this has been like for you, and admittedly, am scared to fucking death of the same (being
self-employed, there is no unemployment!)
i was hesitant to ask before because i didn't want to harp on the negative, but... how the hell did you do it? get by for so long, that is.
so what are you going to be doing for them?
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

I will be working in the sales/dist dept.
I used to work in job recruitment.
How did I get by?
Unemployment, Ebay, DJing, an I found and off the books job in Feb that paid cash.
NOT EASY, but I made it.
