Hard to believe it's possible, but Facebook is getting creepier
'Like' Button Follows Web Users
http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/112769/like-but...
For example, Facebook or Twitter know when one of their members reads an article about filing for bankruptcy on MSNBC.com or goes to a blog about
depression called Fighting the Darkness, even if the user doesn't click the "Like" or "Tweet" buttons on those sites.
For this to work, a person only needs to have logged into Facebook or Twitter once in the past month. The sites will continue to collect browsing
data, even if the person closes their browser or turns off their computers, until that person explicitly logs out of their Facebook or Twitter
accounts, the study found.
Bing head says 'traditional search' is dying
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20064284-17.html
To apparently achieve that goal, Microsoft unveiled a new feature for Bing earlier this week that uses Facebook "likes" to improve a user's search
results. For example, if a user tries to find a new restaurant in their city, Bing will push establishments that the respective user's friends have
liked on Facebook higher in its search results. For the new feature to work, the user must be logged in to Bing and Facebook at the same time.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

We have no privacy when it comes to the computer anymore.

^^^ Don't think for a second that that is all they are using it for. Not to mention wait till the government wants or has access to this info. The IRS
will say how did you buy a pair of NIKES and 2 pair of ADDIDAS shoes in one year when you you only made X amount of money? Or how did you buy the new
dishwasher when you owe us?

Goldman Sachs isn't putting up $1.5bn to help fund Facebook just for advertising data that's for sure.
The analytic data that can be extracted from Facebook goes well beyond advertising and marketing, the vast amount of data is worth billions if not
trillions to the right groups.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

they've been doing this forever. every time you accept cookies and click on a site like amazon, they are taking down all of that information, this is
just more specific. 3rd parties have been selling your personal information forever. remember back in the day when you subscribed to playboy in the
mail and you got a ton of catalogs from porn companies? i do notice when i write a status update it will filter an ad from something i have directly
written. you have had no privacy since day one on the internet.
