If there weren't so many things that slow down and delay the development or progress of so many other things, I wouldn't refer to them as being
"fucking retarded" so often.

And are these guys supposed to change their name to the European Flame Mentally Challenged Association? http://www.cefic-efra.com/Content/Default.asp Somehow, that seems far more insulting to me than the current name.
I should be offended that they didn't say it's wrong to call me "honky" or "cracker." What makes them less offensive than the one mentioned in that
video.
On a side note, people need to come up with new slurs for white people, because honky and cracker are funny and stupid, not offensive.
‘Do you know what a love letter is? It’s a bullet from a fucking gun. Straight through your heart.’
any form of the word "retard" is not cool with me. Ever. I have never been down with the term. I have a cousin who is mentally disabled and he's
amazing. I would assume where my sensitivity to this word comes from. Just don't like it.
On the flip side, the term fag is not something that bugs me. I wouldn't refer to a gay guy as a fag but I'd tell a friend of mine "don't be a fag" if
he were being difficult.

Seems hypocritical but oh well.
That is how I am about retard / retarded. I would not call a mentally disabled person retarded, but tons of other people? Yes. I see a distinction
between having a mental disability and what in my mind makes someone retarded (Ex: Jersey Shore).
This kind of PC bullshit with people becoming hyper sensitive to particular words needs to stop. Didn't we all learn that "sticks and stones will
break my bones but words will never hurt me" when we were about 4 years old? Maybe I'm an insensitive prick, but this shit throws me into the kind of
rage that gives me something resembling retard strength.
A friend of my dad has a daughter who is mentally disabled. It was always explained to me that she was "mentally retarded". It was never a slur that's
just how it was adressed, she was one of the sweetest people I've ever met and I would never insult her. I've also worked at an mhmr (mental health,
mental retardation) clinic with children who had mental disabilities and again I would never insult them. Out of habit I will call someone who is
being a dumbass a retard. When I say it I simply mean they are being a dumbass and they should know better. To me this is the same as calling someone
a fag. I don't mean that they are gay, I mean that they are being a whiny little bitch and should know better. I have a fair number of friends who are
gay but have no issue with calling someone a fag should the need to come up.
I guess ultimately for me it comes down to people need to quit being so easily offended.
