Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Anybody see it yet? I took my son yesterday and I can't believe how good it was. I left the theater wishing I was a gorilla.

saw it Monday....thought it was great. I'm not a big CGI fan, but it's time I got with the times, & I thought they did an amazing job with it, & the
storyline was great. You should show your kids the original Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes afterward. I had to watch that again last week before
I saw Rise, & I forgot how rad it was, especially with the civil rights relevancy thrown in there. & I can't think of a whole lot of things cooler
than liberated apes beating down riot cops.....

Is it a remake of one of the old ones, or does it have a new story? I've never seen any of the old ones, are they worth checking out?

| it's loosely based on the 4th (I believe), Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes, which is a prequel to the
whole series. You gotta check out the whole series, I'm working through them again as it's been a while since I had watched 'em. Conquest/Rise are
definitely my favorites

After the movie my son said he wants to have a marathon of the originals next week which I am psyched to do. I think they set it up perfectly for the
next one, I don't want to throw any spoilers out there but after everybody sees it you'll know why. The CGI was so good too. I particularly like how
they set up/explained the different apes' roles in the ape society. Really well done. Lots of tips of the hat to the original as well.

^^^^^^^^^^ I spit my water out laughing from this post. Never saw the originals, but want to see this one.

We just got back from seeing it.
It was even better than I expected.
and my son also mentioned wanting to see the originals now, so I think an Ape-a-thon will be in the works.
yeah I really wish I was able to swing from redwoods too.....
big gorilla was fierce.
I'm guessing they can pick up with another one ...what you guys think?
