West Memphis 3 was freed two weeks ago
Missed this when it happened, and I just stumbled across this somehow. I'm a bit surprised it didn't get any attention here given that some of you
have posted about the case in the past, Rollins was a big supporter, and some of you check punk news sites that I would hope featured the story, but
maybe not.
Short version: Old case tossed out with plan in place for them to enter Alford pleas to reduced charges, with time served (18 years) + suspended
remainder of sentence. Alford pleas are when you maintain innocence but plead guilty because you acknowledge the state has sufficient evidence to
convict you. They plan on seeking full exoneration and having all the charges tossed out.
HBO did two documentaries on the case, both called Paradise Lost. A third film is being made.

This case is a big reason I have a hard time with the death penalty.

I knew there was something I wanted to post a few weeks back & forgot to....I've been reading about it since the Black Flag cover album that raised
money & awareness for the case came out.....there's an interesting amount of evidence pointing to the stepfather of one of the murdered kids
record collectors are pretentious assholes

^^^^^^ I remember watching a docu on that and that's what they pointed to. The children need redemption as well as all children living or dead
involved in remote similar situations.
