Uber Star Wars Geeks....

I have a friend (not super close) who has been a hardcore Star Wars collector for years. I got to go to his house about 15 years ago and saw his collection and it was insane! Full set of original '12 backs', full set of '21 backs' full set of POTF, prototypes, boxed 12" dolls etc etc etc...

Well There is a guy making a documentary film about Star Wars Toys called 'Plastic Galaxy' (www.PlasticGalaxyMovie.com) and he was in RI to interview my friend Joe this weekend. Because of the interview Joe had a get together on Sunday and invited a few people to hang out & tour his collection so I got to go.

Hes in a different house now so it was all different and he sold off a lot of his general production figures (still has the carded 12 backs including plastic caped Jawa) plus has other toys including all 6 boxed Shogun Warriors, boxed Godzilla Shogun Warrior, Boxed Kiss Mego figures, assorted other boxed Megos, Signed Evel Knievel figure etc etc etc.

Anyway.... the biggest part of his collection now is Bootleg Star Wars merchandise. For you super nerds he has a COMPLETE carded set of UZAY Turkish figures including 1 of only 2 known examples of a carded 'Headman' figure. He also has a full set of loose UZAY figures as well as hundreds of loose Polish, Mexican & Brazialian figures (some made of lead!).

and now for you SUPER SUPER Star Wars geeks... not only does he have the carded UZAY figures, but he also has the steel injection molds that made the figures straight out of the UZAY Favory in Turkey! Insane!! I had such a good time hanging out and listening to people telling stories. I have never (and never will be) a collector to that extent, but its awesome to see!!

I wish I could find some pictures of the awesome Star Wars traditional tattoo flash I saw in the shop I go to the other day.....I can't remember the artist....stuff like Jabba with a "rats get fat" banner, Greedo with "snitches get stiches", Vader with "man ruined", & a lightsaber in Luke's severed hand with "from my cold dead hand"

My sister would probably like the R2D2 bong.

Cool. I should get all my stuff together sometime and take pictures. I don't have any awesome vintage stuff that's worth anything, but from like 1994-95 on I have a ton of stuff. Plus, comics, books etc.

I'm really itching to get the Complete Saga on Blu-Ray, even though Lucas has gone and tinkered with stuff again.

I bought the Blu-Rays but havent watched them yet.

I know that they added in Vader yelling 'Nooooooooo' when the Emperor is shooting the Force lightning at Luke near the end of Jedi. I'm not sure what else they added/changed though.

I just wish that they would have thrown in one more disc with the 3 original trilogy movies in their original theactrical versions.
