best BASS sounds in hardcore?

I'm listening to the Skarhead album of all covers and the bass sounds amazing! Its probably as simple as just a Fender bass, an SVT head and an 8x10 cab, but it sounds awesome!

The bass on No Warning 'Ill Blood' sounds awesome too and any band Craig Ahead plays for usually sounds badass.

Makes me wanna sell all my crappy instruments and just buy that set up!

There's very few times ever in the history of mankind that bass sounds better than Craig on the Straight Ahead stuff.

One of my favorite sounding albums for bass sound that isn't necessarily HC is Michael Bishop (the OG Beefcake) on Scumgdogs of the Universe...it's so raw sounding and forward in the mix.

Kabula killed it on the early AF stuff too.

I love bass. Great subject for a post.

A great spin off topic would be for the best bass intro.

Bad Brains-Regulator is my pick. The intro bass line is better than the whole song itself

I know it's not hardcore, but all albums fugazi ever put out have an amazing bass sound. I hate Rancid, but Matt freeman alos has a pretty sweet sounding bass.

Best bass intros are "Waiting Room" by fugazi and "Midnight Invasion" by The Krays.

the first thing that comes to mind for me is the bass on the first Tension* album
nice clean sound, the occasional power chord and dude isn't afraid to play 'higher up' instead of just playing the first 5 frets of the top string

http://youtu.be/rPl-5Ih__1Q

will think of more later

I think my all time favorite bass intro has to be "TV Salvation" by Neutral Nation.

Neglect had a great bass sound on some of their songs.

Awesome bass intro.

I was gonna say Ill Blood too but already beaten :D 50 Lions - Time Is The Enemy has the same sound as Ill Blood, real good bass sound.

One of the best bass intro's would have to be SOIA's Ceasefire.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Ya, Cease fire is rad. I have to pick up Ill Blood. Everyone talks of how good that album was. I never got into that band.

I was naysaying this SOIA re-do CD when it came out.
Gave it a sin, and was like whatever.
Then I had a long car trip for work a few weeks back and popped it in the car cd player, and shit...blew me away.
Sounds so good.
even my girl is like: "is this live or something"?

Craig Setari: Best hardcore bass, hands down.

erases the shame of that badly done dragon tattoo on my leg
