Modern take on Sherlock Holmes. First season (only three episodes) is on PBS and Netflix now, season two is on PBS in May.

It took a while to grow on me, likely because of the modern-day setting...and because I'm a fan of Jeremy Brett's Holmes.

I like it. It's different. And Cumberbatch is great as Holmes.

Bought season 1 for my ex for Christmas in 2010. Didn't get to watch it before we split. She apparently liked it very much. It's in my Netflix queue.

@quinn - glad to hear you're digging luther! iTunes has season two for like $10 - i'm thinking of buying it just so i don't have to wait for netflix.

@Dave - have you seen him in other things? i don;t recognize him, but that name kills me. Cumberbatch!

He's also going to be a voice actor in both of those new Hobbit movies. He's the voice of Smaug (I think maybe doing to motion capture stuff too) and the voice of the Necromancer....or maybe no voice and just playing him physically? Just know he has the parts.

Still the best British drama to come out in years.

There was also a rumor at one point that Cumberbatch was going to be the next Dr. Who.
