going to texas

I just talked to my younger brother whom lives in Austin with his new wife, and will be headed to Texas for the first time in September to hang out fer me birthday. Can't wait to take in some of Texas's local flavor since I've never been ferther from Philly than virginia. Some of you guys are Texans so maybe you can reccommend some shit if yer familiar with the area....cheers..

all depends on what you are in to
austin is a small city, but has a lot if different shit going on

on any given night of the week you can see any form of music live...
it may not all be great, but it's still kind of mind blowing

it is said that austin has more bars and night clubs then NYC...

for all the best info check out the austin chronicle....
http://www.austinchronicle.com/

it's the weekly free alt paper but has everything goin on in the city everynight of the week...

I suggest going to the alamo draft house, you get big ass pints of beer and real food as you watch movies, and they play a lot of cult and weird stuff along with the mainstream shit, go to emo's and casino el camino's, best bar in austin, just ask someone will point you in the right direction. best jukebox in texas... other then that it's all a matter of what you are into and wher you will be located, if you are near downtown ride the bus, if you are out of downtown, don't drive on 35 it is hell.... imagine driving at 3 am on a major interstate, oh wait did I say driving, I meant sitting in fucking traffic and it's still 100 degrees outside

oh yeah I was telling you about the good stuff.....
avoid 6th street for the most part, all frat boys and girls, looking for a fight but have fun and stay out of the sun, even in september it's damn near 100
