I don't know how much he does it any more, but for a while he was djing quite a bit here in the city. If you're only familiar with his stage persona,
it's definitely a strange thing to try and imagine. Paul is a chill guy; if he comes around your way, you should definitely go. ...and buy him a
drink!
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

I'm just hoping for between-song banter, and plenty of it.
I think he rules but I'm not one to fawn over celebrites- it will, however, be fun to watch my friends be in awe and schmooze and drink or attempt to
drink with him.

The whole hardcore stars DJ'ing think always rubs me the wrong way, not because they are DJ'ng but because it makes them seem like celeberties.
I listened to ST yesterday... goddamn that band was great.

Well, this is a tiny, dingy hole of a club, with one small room and a table set up only when there is a dj. It's also so random b/c it's a regular
ska, reggaen and soul night which is very low-key, so I suspect he's just here visiting friends or something. The only way I saw it announced was
that this dude I know who runs Spitshine sent me a myspace invite.
So it won't be too much of a celebrity atmosphere, I don't think, but that won't stop some of my buds from schmoozing it up.

It rules- it's not always well attended, but wicked chill. They have a patio and free (ghetto and meaty, but free) BBQ.

in my limited experience, paul has never come across a celebrity off stage. he's just a guy; a working class slob... who happens to have made some
great music. introduce yourself, tell him you appreciate what's he's done and buy him a drink. done deal. no shmoozing required.

Oh yeah, I don't think anyone was saying he would act like a bigshot. If I meet him anyway, cool, but I'm not much of the self-introducing type, and
I don't drink so I don't buy drinks.
There are those who schmooze on people for far lesser reasons than being PB, so I'm afraid that will go on no matter what.
An older friend just wrote me and said he used to hang out at her house and never talked, except for an occaisional grumble, ha ha.

Despite seeming like an unapproachable person, Paul is actually a really cool guy to talk to.

here in phila..them guys he is in joe coffee are some real nice dudes however. i always make it a point to say hi to ray.....as for the dj thing, he
did it upstairs last time i saw JC play and he wasn't sayin too much between songs....

I know Paul was doing a lot of DJing when he was living in KC, but I think that was mostly old school country, rockabilly and the like. I also met him
and talked for a bit when Sheer Terror played Austin with Napalm Death and he was a great guy, very cool to talk to about anything and he actually
verbally defended me to some guys he knew who had just moved to town. They said some bullshit about my friend and I being SxE when the subject of
drinks came up and Paul said we obviously weren't THAT kind of Edge since I was up there singin' along to every fuckin' song they played. He sat and
talked about whatever through the whole Napalm Death set and it was more like talkin' to an old friend than any kinda celebrity.

Yup, he didn't talk, just spun really good old rock n roll, most of which I have never heard before, and it was just like a regular night there except
with way more people. My friends were in reverential awe and Paul was very cool about it. My friend Jarrod was abosultely giddy, it was so cute.
