I'll have to check out the Kreator one.
I loved them back in the late 80s / early 90s

Nice list, but I think the production on the new Behexen is a muddy mess compared to their last album....I think the songwriting declined a lot
too...I think they replaced some members.

Damn, the list reminds me how out of touch I am these days.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Some stuff i'd definitely add that hasn't been mentioned...
2 Queensland bands ironically after Mikes post...
Mongrels Cross - Sins of Aquarius (easily in my top 5...absolutely flawless blackened thrash)
Gospel of the Horns - Ceremonial Conjuration
plus
Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction (best doom album in a loooong time. best show I saw all year.)
Anhedonist - Netherwards
Agalloch - Faustian Echoes
Windhand - Windhand
High on Fire - De Vermis Mysteriis (not their best, but still better than 90% of everything else)
Cardiac Arrest - Vortex of Volence

LOVE that band! My little sister got me into them last year, "sexy doom", someone described them as
record collectors are pretentious assholes

Further highlighting how detatched I am from my local scene
