‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ House Is Up For Sale In West Hollywood
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/nightmare-elm-stree...
Are you in the market for a new home? Something in Los Angeles, three bedrooms, three baths, just fine for a family, and includes a demonic spirit who
will invade your dreams? Well, we’ve found just the place for you!
The house where Freddy Krueger did much of his dirty work, haunting the dreams of Nancy Thompson and her friends in Wes Craven’s 1984 classic “A
Nightmare On Elm Street,” is on the market, and if you’re a horror fan with deep pockets, the West Hollywood home can be yours for a mere $2.1
million. Just be warned, while the exterior still looks the same as it did “Nightmare” and the sequels “Freddy’s Revenge” and “Wes Craven’s New
Nightmare,” the actual interior of the house wasn’t used in the movie … and even if it was, the current owners who are eager to sell had extensive
renovations done in 2006, citing poor treatment by the previous owners.
But who knew Freddy Krueger hung out in such a classy pad? Turns out the house, built in 1919, is a comfortable 2,700 square feet, and has a
fireplace, hardwood floors, a newly upgraded kitchen with stone counters, a pool, and even a guest house, presumably so Freddy can have somewhere to
lurk when the family needs their space.
The on-line listing for the house, from Rodeo Realty, avoids mentioning its place in cinema history, but does tell potential buyers, “Refined design
aesthetic and finesse in every detail, this turn-key property includes everything for in-town living, with privacy, sophistication and serenity.” If
that everything includes some pretty unpleasant dreams, just don’t say we didn’t warn you.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

That house doesn't look so menacing anymore. Weird what a little daylight can do.

That house must be really long because it doesn't look 3800 square feet from the front. It also has a guest house? For that place?

i thought it said it was 2700.
i think guest houses are quite common in parts of southern CA. at least that's what HGTV would have me believe.
