Motorhead- Behind The Music
Yes, another Behind The Music thread. I do watch other shows but this board is full of Motorhead fans. I have never really given this band a shot. I
have tried a few times and nothing has ever grabbed me. This show has convinced me otherwise. I'll look for a Greatest Hits album or something.
The show is awesome but can't I understand few of the British dudes on this show. Lemmy is impossible to understand when he's speaking.

SO glad to hear you say that. Don't know if I could respect a man that didn't at least appreciate Motorhead. I don't know if there's anyone -
alive or dead - the better embodies rock n roll. 67 years old and still as legit as a motherfucker.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

It's in the same category as people that don't like Cro-Mags...it's a completely alien concept to me and one of the few times opinions can be wrong.

Definitely a rad record. Bomber is up there too.

No Remorse is a greatest hits comp from their early days and has a lot of their best known stuff. It kicks ass from start to finish. Start there and
if you like that then try a more recent compilation to check out everything after it.

I like them, not a huge fan. Definitely respect Lemmy for what he has done, still have yet to see them live.

After seeing the show, Live at Hammerstein (or whatever it is called) seems like a good start along with Overkill. Currently looking into both.
BD, the show sold me on Lemmy for sure. When Ozzy says shit like, "No one is more real than that fuckin' guy." You know shit is real.

I was never really a fan of Cro-Mags.
Of course I enjoy a couple choice tracks but that is where it ends.
We're playing a Motrorhead song at our wedding in 2 months.
Sure to be a crows pleaser.
this last record they put out was pretty damn good in my opinion as well.

I've never understood people not liking the Cro-Mags. Perfect mixture of hardcore with some metal flair thrown in the mix. Bad Brains I could never
get into. I was never a fan of HR's vocals, and the reggae side of the band is not something I enjoy. Just can't get into reggae.

I absolutely love Bad Brains with every fiber of my being, but I can totally see why someone would not like them. HR's vocals are not for everyone and
the reggae could obviously be a turn off.
But the Cro-Mags are what it sounds like to have your minds ass kicked. I can skip anything after Best Wishes and I don't even think of that when I
speak of Cro-Mags...but Age of Quarrel is a benchmark album that is every single bit as important to heavy music as albums like Sabbath 'Paranoid' or
Motorhead 'Overkill' or Slayer 'Reign in Blood' or any other genre defining moment.

The only Cro-mags album that completely sucks was Near Death Experience. Alpha-Omega was decent and Revenge was pure old-school greatness.

I tend to get into bands more when I see them live. That's why I am not into a lot of older bands, I respect them, just hard for me to get into them.

i never listen to the cro mags, do love seeing them live, though.
i agree w/ jason on bad brains. one of my all time favorites, but i can understanding not being into them. the youth are getting restless was
probably the first thing i heard from them and it absolutely blew my mind. i remember not even comprehending how anyone could be singing that fast.

that DVD they put out a few years ago from the early years blew my mind BD....the energy...goddamn.
I think I may have been turned off a little byt the drama / internet wars of the members of the Cro-Mags for whatever reason.
then again, i go thru periods where I just hate bands, give them a break for a long time, come back to them, give em a listen and love them......yeah
I know, pretty strange.
strange enough, my girl's dad turned her on to the Bad Brains, and probably Motorhead as well.....the guy was pretty hip for his age.
